Create a modern architectural finish around your balcony, deck or verandah using our 40x40mm aluminium batten balustrade system.
These low-height panels are custom cut to fit between your posts, brick piers, timber uprights or steel supports. They are supplied flat packed for DIY assembly and installation.
The finished panels provide a clean, open architectural appearance while defining the edge of raised outdoor areas, decks, balconies and verandahs.
IMPORTANT BALUSTRADE REQUIREMENTS
Balustrade height, openings, climbability and fixing requirements can vary depending on the location and fall height. The purchaser or installer must confirm that the selected design, panel height, gaps, posts and fixings comply with the requirements for their project.
We supply custom-cut DIY aluminium components only. We do not provide engineering certification, site measurements or installation.
HOW TO GET A FAST QUOTE
Send us the following information:
- The width of each panel between your posts — not the total frontage
- The required panel height
- Your preferred colour
- Your required gap between the batten edges
- Whether the panels will fit between posts or sit in front of the posts

WHY LOW-HEIGHT PANELS COST MORE PER SQUARE METRE
Low-height balustrade panels use less vertical aluminium than a tall privacy screen, but they still require the same two horizontal rails, rail covers, brackets, cutting, setup, packaging and handling.
Because these fixed costs are spread across a smaller panel area, the price per square metre is higher than it is for taller fence panels. This is normal for low-height balcony and deck panels.

SUITABLE APPLICATIONS
CHOOSE YOUR BATTEN GAP
Smaller gaps provide a more enclosed appearance and use more aluminium, so they will cost more. Always confirm that your selected opening size is suitable for the intended balustrade application.
Custom gaps can also be supplied. Custom spacing requires additional measuring during assembly because the standard pre-punched rail positions may not be used.
CONCEALED RAIL SYSTEM
Our top and bottom rails are pre-punched at 40mm intervals to help keep the battens straight and evenly spaced. Screws sit inside the rail channels before aluminium covers are fitted over the fixings, creating a clean and professional finish.
The 40x40mm battens sit flat across the front face and project approximately 40mm past the horizontal rails.
PANEL CONNECTION OPTIONS
Panels Between Posts
Our standard panels are quoted with side brackets that attach to the inside of your aluminium, timber or steel posts, brick piers or building walls. The completed panel fits between the supports.
Panels in Front of Posts
For a more seamless appearance, ask for our saddle bracket system. The saddles attach to the front of the posts and the completed panel clips onto them.

BASIC DIY ASSEMBLY
- Position the top and bottom rails at the required distance from the ends of the battens.
- Use the supplied cutting sheet to identify the correct starting hole for the first batten.
- Mark the fixing height on each batten so the rails remain level and consistent.
- With two people, attach the first batten through the pre-punched rail hole and into the reinforced side of the batten.
- Continue attaching the remaining battens across the top rail.
- Square the panel and attach the bottom rail.
- Fit the aluminium rail covers to conceal the screws.
- Fix the completed panel to your posts, piers or structure using suitable brackets and fixings.
MATCHING RAKED PANELS, FENCING AND GATES
We can also supply matching raked stair panels, taller fence panels, privacy screens, pedestrian gates, swing gates and sliding gates.
WE CUT IT — YOU TEK IT TOGETHER AT HOME
IMPORTANT ORDER INFORMATION
- A $100 deposit is required for each custom-cut panel for pickups
- Our standard cutting days are Tuesday and Thursday.
- Orders should be confirmed before the required cutting day.
- Protective film may remain on the aluminium for you to remove after installation.
- Allow a manufacturing tolerance of approximately 3–6mm.
- Final batten gaps may be adjusted slightly so the pattern fits evenly within the panel width.
- Battens cannot normally sit within 30mm of the panel ends because of the rail brackets.
- The purchaser or installer is responsible for confirming project-specific balustrade compliance.
